Growing up surrounded by dressmakers, the sewing machine has now become a very natural place for Sarah to be at. She has attended a course at the National Theatre and a Denim masterclass with Mohsin Sajid at Blackhorse Lane Ateliers to further her skills.

Sarah finds real joy in design, creating and feeling the excitement from the cast members as show week approaches. From the first announcement of a new show her mind starts to plan and the excitement of designing and choosing fabrics begins. It's always a learning curve and with each new challenge and setback; the joy of a finished product is completely satisfying.

In addition to designing and making costumes for the Sharpe productions, she is now helping to develop a Sharpe costume hire department. Sarah balances her costume designing role with a full time career working for a national newspaper in London.
