SUPERVISION & AUDITIONS
Children in school year 7 and above are looked after with the child to staff ratio of 16:1. All our classes have Teachers and Assistant Teachers making sure children are well supervised. All centres have a manager on site at all times in charge of child protection and trained in first aid.
Class begins with a physical warm up. Full staged jazz dance routines are taught as we work towards our productions.
Those students who wish to improve their dance technique have the option of taking additional classes throughout the week in Ballet, Modern/Tap & Acrobatics (Additional fees apply). At Sharpe Academy we use the ISTD Dance syllabus and the ACROBATIC ARTS syllabus.
Students rehearse songs from the show we will be presenting. These usually include harmonies. Children also begin solo singing and learning more advanced vocal techniques.
Those students who we feel are ready for solo work are given minor roles in our musicals and entered into the Watford Festival singing competition each year.
Talented singers may also be invited to join our in-house Stage, Television & Film Agency AGENT SHARPE.

Sharpe is a Performance Academy. Our students have many opportunities to perform.
On Stage Presentation
Once a year parents are invited to watch an on stage presentation to see how their child is developing at Sharpe Academy. This is a great chance to meet the teachers, discuss progress and watch a variety of lessons.
Once a year our students perform a fully staged musical at the 500-seat Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth. This is always a highlight of the year and we try to make our shows as professional as possible including lights, microphones, set and costumes.
