ENTRY

The Sharpe Academy Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre & Acting is aimed at students aged 16-22 and is a 3 Year course. We also have a 1-Year Post Graduate option if you have already completed a degree and require one year of intensive dance training to build your dance skills before entering the profession.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Age: 16+ (Diploma)
  • Minimum Age: 20+ (Postgraduate)
  • Entry is by Audition only.
  • Students should be able to read and write to a GCSE standard or above.
  • Postgraduate students must have studied for a mimimum of 2 years on a Diploma or Degree course

Students do not require any formal qualifications to audition or be accepted onto our courses.

Places will be offered only to students who we feel can have a successful career as a musical theatre performer and/or professional actor. All students who wish to be considered for a place must attend an audition. To book a FREE audition please complete our online form. Once we receive your application you will be invited to one of our audition days.

  • What to Prepare


Students should prepare the following and send us a link (Dropbox or Youtube) to their self-tapes:

One Musical Theatre Song
This should last no longer than 3 minutes and should show your vocal capabilities and range.

One Acting Monologue
This can be from either the modern or classical era. It should last no longer than 3 minutes and you should use your own voice and no accents. This should be a performance in which you fully embrace the­ character.

SELF-TAPE Information

Please make sure you include your name and a little about yourself on your self-tape before presenting your pieces. Make sure you can be seen clearly and please perform for the camera. After you complete your tape please upload it to either Dropbox or YouTube and send us a link before your audition day.
